Toyota Tundra - TOWING

TOWS 10,000 LB.  BETTER YET, STOPS 10,000 LB.

Yep, five Tundra models can tow over five tons.  In fact, the 4x2 Regular Cab Long Bed with an available 5.7L V8 has a towing capacity up to 10,400 lb.  Yet those who think towing is only about brute power are unfamiliar with a fundamental principle of physics.  For our purposes, it can be summarized as, "A trailer in motion tends to stay n motion."  That is, unless your truck is a Tundra.  No other truck in its class has larger front brake rotors.  Coupled with powerful 4-piston calipers, those rotors bring Tundra and its trailer confidently to a halt.  In short, when it comes to towing, don't sweat the big stuff.

THE BACKBONE OF OUR 1/2 TON TRUCK
A towing capacity of up to 10,400 lb.[1] is bound to put a lot of strain on a 1/2 ton pickup.  And while other manufacturers might use a single type of material or design for their frame, Tundra uses a specifically engineered structure for each of the frame's three sections.  It's a design called TripleTech TM, and it's one strong reason why Tundra is the ideal work vehicle.

INTEGRATED TOWING RECEIVER HITCH

i-FORCE V8 Tundra models with the available Tow Package come with the receiver hitch integrated into the frame.  Attached far down the frame rails and using a dozen high-strength bolts, the hitch features a hydroformed cross member for increased towing strength.
