Edmunds Auto Observer: "Despite intensifying competition in the midsize-sedan market, we have no reason to believe that the best-selling passenger-car in America nine years running won't extend its streak with the 2012."

Autoblog: "Toyota has manufactured and sold 15 million Camry models across 100 countries since it debuted way back in 1983. It's a number that's nearly unfathomable. If all of those polite four-doors were still roaming the earth, there'd be one for every man, woman and child in Virginia, Maryland and Washington D.C. combined, and you'd still have a almost a million vehicles left over. Even more eye-widening is Toyota's claim that of the Camry models built and sold over the last 15 years, 90 percent are still happily enduring a daily commute on nearly every corner of the planet. By sheer volume and longevity, the Camry is nothing short of an engineering and manufacturing wonder."

Automobile Magazine: "There's a new Camry for 2012, and although it's not a radical change, it's a substantial revision on the formula that, for two decades, has proven nearly unbeatable in dealerships...  And when you step into the seventh-generation Camry, you won't see, smell, or feel rental-car-grade materials anywhere."

Autoblog Green: "For 2012, the Japanese automaker has turned up the efficiency and the power in the seventh-generation Camry Hybrid, giving it the fuel economy credentials it needs to best its chief rival, the Ford Fusion Hybrid while improving overall drivability, too....the Camry Hybrid should put a dent in Ford Fusion Hybrid and Hyundai Sonata Hybrid sales."

2012 Camry Reveal Pushes Online Buzz Into Overdrive; Top-Shop on Edmunds.com

The Aug. 23 introduction of the all-new Toyota Camry has created an extraordinary amount of buzz.  Case in point, Edmunds.com says that for the week ending Aug. 28:

"Camry had more unique shoppers on our site and the highest number of visitors for any vehicle in more than three years"
"Camry shopping pushed the midsize segment to the top-shopped segment for the first time since February"
"Toyota was the most shopped make for the first time this year and for most of the last year"
"180,000 unique Edmunds shoppers considered a Toyota and more than 50,000 of them considered Camry."

There is also good news for the auto industry from Edmunds.com. The popular website reports that "more than one million Edmunds shoppers considered a new vehicle for the seventh straight week, demonstrating that a healthy number of shoppers are still in market despite uncertain economy."
